About whistleblowerawardcalc.com
Reviewed by Bram Whitfield (BW), Editor-in-Chief — Whistleblower Award Programs Practice. Updated May 2026.
whistleblowerawardcalc.com is a free whistleblower law resource maintained by The Click Lab. Our calculator and guides help people understand the major federal whistleblower award programs — the SEC, CFTC, IRS, and False Claims Act programs — including what you can potentially receive, what factors affect your award, and what steps protect your rights before and after you report.
What We Do
Federal whistleblower programs provide financial incentives for insiders and others with knowledge of fraud to come forward. But the programs are complex: each has different thresholds, different award ranges, different eligibility rules, and different anti-retaliation protections. We translate these frameworks into accessible resources. Our calculator estimates potential awards based on the program, total sanctions, your contribution quality, and your cooperation level. Every formula and statutory reference is documented on our methodology page.
Our guides cover the full picture: how each program works in practice, the SEC and FCA programs in depth, the strategic questions around internal versus external reporting, and the most common misconceptions that lead potential whistleblowers to misjudge their situation.
What We Don't Do
We do not provide legal advice. Whistleblower decisions — whether to report, to whom, in what sequence, under what program — are high-stakes choices with significant legal, financial, and personal consequences. Our calculator and guides are educational starting points, not substitutes for legal counsel. Before submitting any tip or filing any claim, consult a qualified whistleblower attorney. Most offer free, confidential initial consultations.
